for example, thermokar.st (forgjo) vs thermokarst (dokku). dokku had a limitation (or maybe it was gitolite?) that prevented creation of the repo with a period in the name. im sure there's other examples i can't think of at the moment.

This was easier to solve by just fixing up the dokku mismatch.
